Every bike sale at ACME begins with a bike fitting. This foundation ensures that we can guide you to the perfect bike, customized to fit you, or custom-made for you. Both of our shops (Brooklyn + Katonah) staff expert fitters and use some of the most advanced bike fit tooling available. Our bike fit process has been fine-tuned over the past 20 years, shaped by our time in the fit studio, our work with clients, and our experience riding and racing on the roads and trails. Our process is completely focused on the elements that we know matter and make a difference, from saddle selection, to crank arm length considerations, shoe and cleat adjustments, and so much more — we leave no stone unturned. We believe that we are not just fitting a bike to you, — we’re crafting a perfect machine for you, rooted in your comfort, performance, individualities, goals, and style of riding which will serve you for years to come.
Once your fitting is complete, we’ll identify bikes that are a great fit for you. Some bikes are better suited for certain riders and the only way to know with absolute certainty if a bike fits you well is to have a fitting first. Even with 20 years of industry-leading bike fit experience, we can’t tell someone what bikes fit them based on their height, limb lengths, or flexibility; it’s just not that simple. Our bike selection process is non-biased and based on the measurements from your bike fitting with considerations for how a bike will fit you in the future as you adapt and evolve as a rider. We offer bikes from a wide variety of vendors and in the chance that we don’t sell a brand that fits you, we will, without hesitation, suggest a bike that we don’t sell. To us, your bike fit and ultimate happiness on the bike is the most important thing.
